As in the case with many health conditions, exercise can have a powerful and positive contribution to pregnancy when applied correctly. Developing safe and effective programmes for the pregnant woman is very important.

Research has shown that women who exercised more prior to becoming pregnant had greater body satisfaction during the second trimesters and less depressive symptoms in early pregnancy. Decreasing pre-natal depression will also decrease the risk of post- natal depression.

By establishing an exercise routine prior to becoming pregnant, the mother may overcome a tendency to stop or dramatically decrease physical activity as a result of her pregnancy. In turn, this may lead to continued activity that can be of great benefit to the mother and child during pregnancy as well as after birth. Furthermore, research has shown that women who partake in physical activity prior to pregnancy and continue with light to moderate activity during pregnancy experience a reduced risk for developing gestational diabetes mellitus and abnormal glucose tolerance.

From a cosmetic perspective, by establishing a proper exercise routine the return of the abdominal muscle tone to a normal or flat appearance will be regained quickly and/ or more completely than a person who has never exercised.

Exercise is beneficial for the apparently healthy pregnant client, the client with chronic illness, the unborn child and the child later in life. Research has shown that exercise may have a more favourable effect on the subjective discomfort levels during pregnancy and labour. Exercise in the 1st and 2nd trimester has been correlated with feeling better in the 3rd trimester, a decrease in perceived exertion during labour and is also associated with fewer symptoms of discomforts of pregnancy.

All of the above packages come with a single training session (1hr)

Additional sessions are available for each stage and will be charged @ £25
